I’d like to point you to another great post by online journalism educator Mindy McAdams on how to use the ridiculously easy audio slideshow program Soundslides. She doesn’t talk much about music, other than to say the length of your Soundslides project will be the length of whatever music you choose. I would add the following:
* Pick a piece of music that complements the mood the photos exhibit
* Try making your transitions synch to some change in the music. Don’t be too predictable or repetitive with this technique, however.
* Since Soundslides doesn’t include an audio editor, use audio editing software to make sure your audio level is right and the length is what you want it to be before you open the Soundslides program.
* Most importantly, make absolutely sure you own the rights to publish the music you’ve chosen.
