There are millions of drum and percussion loops floating around on the Internet. Many of them are good, and of course I’ve downloaded my share over the years. But it’s much more fun to create your own. And the best part is you can use just about any sounds to create them. Doing this insures that your project has at least one sound that’s unique. Over at audiotuts+, composer/producer Ryan Leach has a great tutorial on how to create your own drum loop. For the exercise, he used sounds he made with his body – and only his body. Check it out!
